about us

Mission

The mission of The Anna Trust Foundation is to support the collective efforts of congregations globally, especially those in vulnerable contexts, to ensure a healthy, dignified aging process for all Catholic sisters and to help them provide the relevant long-term care needed.

Vision

The vision of The Anna Trust Foundation is a Catholic sisterhood of health, love, and spiritual strength at all ages and in all conditions in which sisters live and serve. Our vision is that the dignity and wellbeing thus experienced by Catholic sisters will flow through to the communities that sisters serve, resulting in respect for and promotion of the dignity of all elderly around the world.

Values

The Anna Trust Foundation is built on a foundation of respect for life at all of its stages.

  • We value all dimensions of the health of our elderly Catholic sisters.
  • We value spirituality and the continuous deepening of the relationship with Christ Our Savior, which sustains life at every age.
  • We value community and thus the mutual accompaniment of sisters across generations, where care, presence, and shared life flow in both directions.
  • We value wisdom and the active presence of elderly sisters in the life of mission and ministry, acknowledging that their contribution remains generative even as it takes new and evolving forms with age.

Our Spiritual and Theological Underpinnings

An approach to caring for elderly religious should consider:

  • What is required to meet the needs of the whole person, physically, emotionally, and spiritually?
  • How can we empower elderly religious with the agency to respond to God’s calling, embracing their end of years with great passion for mission?

This is why The Anna Trust is rooted in a fundamentally integral approach anchored in a theological lineage, drawing from the charisms of women religious, Catholic Social Tradition, Scripture and Church documents, including the papal encyclical Fratelli Tutti, and the Vatican’s note on Old Age: Our Future — The Elderly After the Pandemic.
