Sr. Patricia Murray, IBVM: Reimagining Ongoing Formation and the Grace of Care in Religious Life
In her address, Sr. Patricia Murray, a member of Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM) (Loreto Sisters), and Former Executive Secretary of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) and Chair at The Anna Trust, speaking on “Ongoing Formation in Religious Life” and “Care for Elderly and Unwell Sisters: A Focus on The Anna Trust” offered a profound synthesis of spirituality, leadership, and human solidarity and stressed that formation is lifelong, care is sacred, and vulnerability becomes a grace.
From the outset, Sr. Patricia reminded participants of the 4th International Global Research Network Symposium that formation in religious life does not end with novitiate or perpetual profession; it is an unending process of growth and transformation. “We are responsible for our own formation. I’m still learning, and I make it an intention in my life to form myself” she affirmed.
