Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What is the purpose of The Anna Trust Foundation?

The Anna Trust Foundation was created to ensure that aging Catholic sisters around the world live their elder years with health care services and spiritual support that will surround them with dignity and help them continue to provide emotional and prayer support to their ministries.

Why is this important?

Catholic sisters dedicate their lives to service, often in the most impoverished and dangerous communities and settings in the world.

Their consecrated life commitment is to service. As sisters age, many congregations do not have the plans, skills or resources to ensure that the increased number of elderly sisters maintain their physical and spiritual well-being as vibrantly as possible and continue to lift up service to others in their prayers.

Having lived a life of service in the ministry, sisters deserve to age with dignity.

What programs does the Foundation implement?

The Anna Trust Foundation primarily focuses on grantmaking in support of Catholic sisters’ elder care around the world with a focus on collaboration among congregations to bring elder care to scale.

In support of that function, the Foundation also engages in education and skill-building of Catholic sisters to provide care to the elderly members of their congregations, spiritual formation in support of aging, longitudinal research to determine the most effective means for elder care, and advocacy for elder care for sisters and the local communities in which they minister.

Where are the Foundation’s programs located?

The Anna Trust Foundation itself is headquartered in Rome, Italy.

Its grantmaking and elder support programs are global, with a particular focus on geographies in which elderly Catholic sisters live in vulnerable conditions.

Who leads the Foundation?

The Foundation Board is Chaired by Sr. Patricia Murray, ibvm, one of the most respected Catholic sisters globally.

Its Board is comprised of Catholic sisters and experts in elder care.

Can I apply for funding?

The Anna Trust Foundation’s grantmaking is reserved for collaboration among Catholic sisters’ congregations.

Catholic sisters should reach out to the Foundation for more information.
